Default i want to add a tune to a new ecoboost have questions tho

I just bought a 2013 ecoboost fx4. I am going to order the afe stage 2 intake and afe 4inch exhaust. I want to add a tune as well but im worried about the warranty. is there many people out there that are having problems once they tune there truck. can you hide the chip from the dealership ? and what tunes would be a good safe tune to go with.

Would wait to see if you have any CAC issues before tuning to avoid any dealership woes with warranty work. Just IMO.

At what mileage would be a good recommendation to try a tune? I bought my mine on Dec, 4th & have almost 4500 miles on it & no problems so far... I was thinking 10k... I already have a SCT livewire TS out of my old f150 so its becoming harder to leave it stock... LOL. My only concern has been warranty issues if ever needed. From what I understand dealerships can tell when you've been tuned & void your warranty??? Wish I would've thought it through before purchasing the 100k warranty... The other thing I wondered is if I do tune, should I try my livewires canned 92 tune or just order one straight from 5 star? Reason I was wondering is if it looks worse to the dealer if you retune a bunch if they can tell?

Have you given much thought about livernios tunes. They seem pretty reputable and reliable when coming to customer service.

I have, but I already have an SCT livewire TS. So I could just purchase some tunes for 5 star. As far as I know livernois doesn't tune SCT products... Also, does anyone know what the dealership can see when it comes to tunes?? Does it actually show the vehicle has been retune or can you just say you disconnected the battery??? I'm just worried about voiding my 100k warranty...

We do tune some vehicles using the SCT device but the F150 EcoBoost is not one of them currently.

Any plans in the near future to use SCT on the ecoboost? I've heard lots of good about your tunes but I already have an SCT livewire TS from my trade in...

Another question being since you guys would probably know what's visible in the programming, can Ford tell if you've been retuned even if you program back to stock first?

According to sct when you put the tune back to stock it leaves no footprint behind on your PCM. So ford should not be able to tell.

If I could find confirmation on this I would retune right now... Any Ford techs or tuners (Livernois, Frenchi or 5 star)on here have anymore insight on this?? I just need to be sure... I just dont want to throw away my extended warranty. Hopefully ill never need it anyways, but the only thing I would be worried about is say a turbocharger failed on my truck. Could the dealer somehow look into the ecu & see that the truck has been running higher than stock boost levels & therefore void my warranty????

From what I have read they can figure out you have a tune by looking at past boost levels. The max stock boost levels are around 15 psi. When they see boost levels near 21psi they know something's not right.
