Default performance exhaust

I've been thinking about adding performance exhaust to my F-150 Ecoboost. The biggest concern I have is sound. I tow an 8000 pound camper with my truck, and want avoid that drone sound. Plus I just don't like the sound of a loud V6. I would prefer to have performance exhaust without any additional noise compared to the stock muffler. Does such a performance exhaust system exist? Are the advantages of performance exhaust worth the cost? The only other performance piece I'm using is an Edge Evolution CTS programmer. Thanks.

I heard the Solo duel was among the quietest. I put a performance exhaust on my last two vehicles but the silent power is growing on me with the ecoboost and I am trigger shy to buy this. The exhaust is worth it on a turbo vehicle. Back pressure on the turbos is a huge power robber. But like you I like silent. http://solo-performance.com/mach-x-e...emford-f150-v6

Anybody using a Flowmaster 70 series on your Ecoboost? How's it compare to stock relating to both power increase and sound? Thanks

Today I installed a Flowmaster 70 series muffler with 3" inlet and outlet. I also installed a 3" bolt-on resonator delete pipe, 30" inches in length. Found this pipe at NAPA for $52. I used 1/2 inch steel rods I cut and bent to fit for the muffler and intermediate pipe for hangers. I used an additional 21 1/2", 3" diameter stainless pipe to make the connection between the resonator delete pipe and the Flowmaster in place of the flex pipe. I cut the factory 3" tail pipe from the stock muffler and welded it to the Flowmaster. It took me 3 hours to complete. Total cost in the Flowmaster and all other parts came to $215.

The exterior sound is louder than stock, but deep and mellow. Interior drone while accelerating is noticeable but minimal. No drone at cruising speed. It does seem to be a little bit quicker.

So after driving around with the Flowmaster for a couple weeks, the interior drone is too much for my liking. I bought and installed an aftermarket MBRP stainless steel resonator with 3" inlet/outlet. Still not as quiet as stock, but the interior drone is toned down to a tolerable level.

My Corsa system has stock like interior noise (almost none) and now after 30,000 miles has proven to be of OEM quality or better.
