That is a terrible dealer. When I had the bed plate on my 6.0 powerstroke resealed under warranty, which involved the cab and motor disassembled, I had them also put in ARP studs and a lot of other fixes on. They just charged me an addition 5 hours of labor and I supplied the parts. They didn't care as long as the extra work and parts were paid for.

I'd install the new chain and whatever extra you wanted as long as it's paid for, at our dealer we look at it as money is money so long as the bill gets paid we don't have an issue with it. We've studded many 6.4 heads while doing waranty head gaskets as long as the customer pays for the studs.

I've never met a tech that will turn down work that is basically gravy. What's a couple of extra bolts and parts to them if they're in there anyways.

Your dealer sucks. Mine found a leaky hose while changing out my timing chain and asked if I wanted to pay for the new hose and they would install it for free since they had to take the hose out and put it back in anyways. They also found some kind of crack in some plastic associated with a valve cover and since they aren't sure if they broke it tearing it apart they are overnighting the part and not charging me for that either. Sucks though, means I won't get my truck back until tomorrow at the earliest if they get the new valve cover in. I'm confident though they are going to give me my truck back in the best condition they can.

As I read through this thread I noticed that the only one's who've experienced the timing chain issue own a 2011 model. Certainly there are 2012+ Ecoboosts out there with higher mileage. Anyone own a 2012 or later and have had the timing chain issue?

Livernois tune? Sorry for my ignorance, or my slow uptake, but I'm curious what this is?

Default Cold Start Rattle

Started getting the cold start rattle about 3 weeks ago, no engine light or anything (2013 with 58,000kms). I took the truck into the dealer and they called to tell me they ordered all the parts to replace the timing chain.
