How long should you allow for break-in?
I just bought a 13 F-150 Ecoboost Saturday with 18mi on the odo. Is there any break-in? and how many mi?
So far I have babyed it. I did push it to 4k rpms yesterday just to see what she had. I'd just like to know how some of you broke yours in. Thanks

1000 miles. It's in the owners manual under driving hints, page 283 in my book.

Thanks Guys! I did kind of push her a little today. Not anything crazy. I just could'nt take, I had to see what she had. I have driven and owned a few trucks in my life, but none that will scream like this one does. I hope pushing it one time wont do any damage.

How long did it take to get off the lot at the dealer?

I'm with ya, I don't believe in break in either. Built too many race engines and ran em flat out from the get go and they still only leaked down 3% after the first hot laps.

With almost 400 miles on her I had no choice but to hook up at trailer (5,000 lbs) and tow it 15 miles away from the house. I and there's been a few drag races already. Almost at 600 miles!!! Can't wait to throw a tune on her at 1,000 miles. It's weird on the express way I can see 21mpg already with it being the 157" wheel base and 4x4. Can't wait to see the numbers once the engine breaks in.
