that was the fix for that problem... my reply was to a previous post from someone who said they hadn't heard of any issues with the engine.

mine is a new issue, which (after i called ford corporate) i learned is becoming more common for some 3.5L when towing.

no need to jump on me. sometimes s#$% breaks. but it's pretty unsafe when you're hauling horses and it shuts down on you going 70.

That's funny. You register a new name just to bad mouth the ecoboost?

no, i was searching around to see if other people were having the same problem as me, and this thread came up, and i wanted to join the forum.

you guys sure are defensive on here... i haven't bad-mouthed the engine. that would look more like 'ecoboost sucks'. in fact, i've said i love the truck. which i do. but i'm having a big problem that i can't pay to fix.

it's ironic that you're giving me a hard time about this in an 'ecoboost regret' thread!

I had a 2007 Chevy with the 5.3L V8 for almost 7 years and traded it in on a 13 F150 with the 3.5L eccoboost. At first I said I did no it want the V6 because I had always been a V8 guy, but after driving it for a day or so I feel in love wit it and in Feb of this year, I traded in my 16 Lariat for a 16 Lariat with the 3.5L eccoboost and love it.

Yesterday when leaving the hobby shop, some little boy in is obnoxiously loud ricer toy, swear sounding like a really out of tune harley, was leaving the lot behind me. I was backing out of my space when he was, but he was in such a hurry. He was revving that crap box behind me. Just so happens we were heading the same direction. The exit from the shop turns onto a side road by a light, the light was red so we have to stop. We both were going right. I went, he followed, I went in left lane, he tried the right. Needless to say all he saw was tail lights. I guess I ticked him off because when he did get next to me, he dumped the clutch and revved it. At that point I was just cruising behind other traffic, but he had to be a jerk and was weaving all around other racing up the road, to the next red light, and the next, and the next. I think I missed them all at that point.

AHHH Love the power of the Boost! Truck weighs at LEAST twice what his obnoxiously loud crap box does, and left it sitting still.

Next time this happens try to look down at the dash, I thought I had the same thing until I noticed the traction control light blinking at the same time. Now when I know I have a hard pass coming up I tick it off quick and haven't had a problem with it since.

Default 2011 Ecoboost killing me

My Ecoboost was an angel until a month ago. My extended warranty ran out and I get a crazy bearing noise. Sounds like a pinion bearing, bring it to the local shop and he says it's the tail shaft/Torrington bearing. Put in a used tranny and still hear the same sound. I have an appointment with the local Ford dealership Wednesday but..... The sound, increases over 10 mph and gets louder, increases with speed and never changes with turning or bumps. Is it really possible to have two trash transmissions from this 6r80?

Will have had my 3.5tt 2 years next month. (April) My motor has been flawless.

Yes, it's only been two years but I couldn't be more pleased or happy with a motor as I am with this one.

FWIW, I change the oil at 5,000 miles and use Pennzoil Platinum Ultra w/the stock Motorcraft filter.
