Default Love it

No regrets here. I've had a 2012 SCREW Lariat since new and love it. I just rolled over 40K miles with no issues. My uncle has a 2011 5.0 and my buddy bought a 2013 5.0 after he saw how great mine was. I've looked and a lot of it has to do with where we are driving and how hard on the pedal we are, but they average around the same (13-14 mpg) and I was at 15 until I lifted. Last fall I raised the front 2.5" and the rear 1.5" and put Hankooks 305/55/R20s on it and love it. I've noticed somewhere around 1 to 1.5 drop in mpg but I'm not too worried. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to center a front plate, which I've since gotten over.

A friend of mine has a 2011 Lariat 3.5L.Eco Boost. In heavy rain it would over cool and the computer would cut the engine power. Ford's fix was to block 1/3 of the after cooler with some sort of tape. So when I purchased my 2014 FX4, I got the 5.0L V-8. Traded in a 2000 Excursion 4x4 V-10 for it and wish I had it back, that was a good engine. 262000 trouble free miles, and could tow anything. I should of bought the steel block 6.2L in my FX4. 2014 was the last year for the F150.

Default Dumped mine

I loved the way that it pulled, so impressive. I loved the mileage unless I was over enjoying the EcoBoost power.

However, I became increasingly annoyed with the engine miss upon moderate acceleration. Don't even get me started on hard acceleration. That being said, the ultimate reason for getting rid of the EcoBoost was to go back to a 3/4 ton with an 8 foot bed. For a 1/2 moderate duty, it pulled it's weight with ease.

I traded an '09 5.4L for an '11 F150 with the 3.5L. Put over 60k miles on it with no issues (aside from the intercooler being over efficient, but Ford fixed that). Traded that in January for a '15 with the 3.5L and I couldn't be happier. There is nothing--NOTHING--out there (aside from a diesel) that can tow like the big EcoBoost can. Not even GM's 6.2, and yes, I've compared.

On a side note, Livernois Motorsports makes an AMAZING tuner for that truck.

Default Not for me, no confidence

I haven't seen anyone post yet that's put significant miles on the engine. I had the CAC issue, then heard about reducing the spark plug changeout issue and I completely lost confidence in the truck. I traded in my 2012 with only 20k on it for a 2014 V8 which gets BETTER mileage and I have a lot more confidence.

Now if only Ford didn't make the Sync and a few other things harder to use since 2012. You really have to try to go backwards with information technology, and they succeeded.

No regrets what so ever. I pull a RV and the payload capacity is a little skinny but the truck pulls fine. Excellent MPG when not towing.

You're just a bit off there with your description of Ford's fix. They replace the intercooler completely. Ford replaced mine and I had no issues afterward.

That V10, while a good motor, was a dog. 9MPG loaded or empty, didn't matter.

I have a 2013 ecoboost, I love it. I pulled a 9000lb travel trailer from Michican to Maryland. It was unbelievable how well it pulled. There is not a 1/2 ton truck out there that can tow like the F150 with ecoboost.
