Timming chain issues , 17 mpg, have to change oil at 5,000 miles, and air filter once a month.

Do you have a different rear axle ratio possibly??

Amazing power/low end torque,
After getting my 5 star 91 p/t tune I get 22-23 mpg highway if I try, 19+/- if I drive like a teenager, 18 mpg city if I try, hight 16 to low 17 if not.
With that being said I don't think there's anything wrong with the 5.0 either, my next f150 may have a 5.0, maybe.

2013 F150 ecoboost xlt Screw cab 4x4, 2" level, 3" rear block.
34k miles on od.

That having been said though, for our occasional towing experiences, and using the truck mainly as a passenger/cargo/only towing occasionally vehicle, we are more than happy with the 3.15 rear end, especially when we get that 21 MPG + around town and on the highway. Feel like it's just a nice compromise between towing capacity and all-around MPG.

Keep in mind that Ford uses a electrical connection between the accelerator and the engine. Many owners have complained that there is a significant delay between application of the accelerator and response from the engine. Much of that delay can be removed with even a low grade tune. While a tune shouldn't be required, it does alter response considerably. In your case the gear ratio might also have an effect. My '11 FX4 SC with 3.73's has an excellent "hole-shot" even without the tune. It will spin the tires before the traction control can catch up with it. The deeper gearing helps get the revs up faster so the turbos spin up faster.

Gearing makes a huge difference with the EB. I had a 12 with 3:73 and it was a LOT faster off the line, and didn't gear down as much as the 3:15's do, however it also sucked up a LOT more fuel too at any speed.

I specifically looked for a RWD with 3:15 gearing, but really wanted one with locking diff, so got 2 out of 3. It does hunt a bit when pulling, however I found if I run Premium when towing, it doesn't hunt as much, and pulls a lot better. I am considering putting 3:31's in when I replace the diff with a Posi, but then I have a lot more work to do where if I keep the 3:15 then all I have to worry about is the carrier shims, otherwise I have to play with the pinion shims and from what I can see it uses a crush sleeve, so has to be right the first time in. Also doing the pinion under the truck is a massive PITA, did it on an F350 with a torque multiplier, and 5 inches of swing room.

For the amount of towing I do, and this being my daily driver, I may just stick with the gears as they are, don't know what the impact would be going to 3:31 or 3:55 (3:31 are hard to find).

Since I found a topper, and had a budget of $2000 for one, I saved about $1000 with the used topper, so now I can get a bed rug and tuner and still come out ahead. I haven't budgeted the Posi yet since I haven't priced it all out, including the bearing tools.

I have the tremor with the 4:10 ratio. Faster overall takeoff, and I definitely never notice it downshifting going up hills/small inclines.

Running around 20.8 mpg.

Ok....I'm sure that I posted here some ways back about how the Boost was a Beast towing.....and it was, until it got T-Boned 2 months ago. Now it over heats pulling only a 8k TT. It's at Ford again . It shakes the trust factor, especially considering that last year I pulled the same trailer from AZ to San Diego at 60mph with frickin cruise control.
I've got a vibration; I've got a rattle, and my truck has overheated 3 times in 87° weather pulling a 7% grade.
I'm sick thinking about it. I got rid of the Titan (thank go*) for the exact reason.
On a separate note ...I drove a 2015 6.7 Powerstroke-OMG, that truck has big as* *****!

Was the truck fixed right and could your problems be from when you got T-Boned?

Sounds like problems started happening after, maybe truck should have been totaled rather than repaired

The truck ran awesome up until the accident, and it sucks that the insurance company decided to repair rather than just total it.
I only have 20k on her. Looks like I will have to take it back and forth to Ford until they get it right....until the warranty expires.
