Question 2013 Ecoboost stalling & check engine light flashing during acceleration

Have owned F150 Lariat for 3 months and have experienced two episodes of engine loss of power, choking and check engine light flashing during acceleration either to get up to highway speed or during passing. Very dangerous predicament when you need the power and it isn't there for both yourself and others on the highway. First incident of this happened at less than 500 miles on the vehicle, dealer found nothing wrong, happened again yesterday at less than 4000 miles. Talked with dealer and they mentioned a technical bulletin about a fix. Who out there has experienced this problem and does this fix really work?

Is this a 2011-2012 truck? From what I have read, part of the TSB is to change out the intercooler for a 2013 type. If the dealer said there is a fix, take the damn thing in already! Demand a loaner and go beat it up on the interstate!

Default 2013 Ecoboost F150 Lariat stalling & check engine light

It's a brand new 2013. It happened at less than 500 miles and again this past Friday at less than 4000 miles. It will be back at the dealer when I get back in town for "the fix". My question, is "the fix" going to work or are the Ford engineers guessing at a fix. When this problem surfaces, it puts you in a unsafe condition for both your vehicle and others on the road.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had a something close to that it would start cutting when it hit 3500 to 4000Rpm and the engine light would sometimes flash, I took it to the dealer and told them to find the problem. I have 72,000 mile on my truck, they could not find any thing wrong so they sugested change the plugs. It worked my truck runs great and no problems when I jump on it.

Sum have found the iridium plug to be sensitive/fragile. They went out on my wives on the interstate and began bucking intermittently gradually increasing in frequency on long hills. New fixed it. Immediately. I suspect some get dropped in production and installed. The problem crops up at some later time. No real set time limit just before 75,000 miles.

I had this happen at 2300 miles on my 2013 two weeks ago. First time the CEL didn't stay on just flashed off and on while it was bucking smh and missing..second time in an hour it did it again and the CEL stayed on and stored it. We were on vacation so speed at a dealer in Oklahoma City who was great and got the truck right in. Engine code was hard misfire on number 6 plug do the replaced the coil pack on that plug.

Now this happened after over three hours of stay drizzle on the Kansas turnpike and I haven't been able to replicate the problem since then.

Did 5000 mile service at my local dealer who said my truck had latest tsb and ecm settings already but they'd have to experience the "issue" before they could do any more on it. I'm considering drilling the tiny hole in the lower part on the IC but great it won't fix the problem if it's condensate on the fins inside that are collecting the water that gets ingested on Wot.

I had the same issue, I was told by ford that on the 13's they had the problem fixed. It happened to me once while passing and twice on acceleration. They hooked it up to the computer and no misfire codes or anything went off. I told them I had video footage of the CEL flashing and the truck shuddering. They changed their tone and are contacting ford directly.
