Default 2011 vs. 2013 EB mileage

I bought my first EB engine in a 2011 crew cab XLT 4X4 and I averaged around 21 mpg. Last year I traded in my 2011 for a 2013. If you parked these two trucks side by side, the only difference you would notice is that the 2013 has running boards.
The best I can get on this 2013 is around 18 mpg. I find it hard to believe that running boards would eat up 3 mpg. My wife says I drive like a grandpa. I tell her that's because I am one. The dealership says everything checks out great on this truck, and other then the mileage I really have no complaints. Any suggestions for how to improve my mileage would be greatly appreciated.

Was the rear end gearing the same? Did you have the intercooler tsb performed on your 2011 when you had it? How many miles were on the 2011 and 2013?

Yes the rear end gearing was the same. Not sure I know what an intercooler tsb is so I guess the answer to that would be a no
:-) As for mileage, I have 17k on this truck. When I traded the 2011, it had a little over 26.

With the 13's most people notice a large gain in mpg with a tuner. Including myself. It is probably all the tsb's that decrease the fuel mileage fighting the condensation issue.
