Default Problem with steering

My step son bought a 93 f150 with a 6 inch lift. It needs a camber adjustment. I've never seen this before when backing up the wheels turn in and I watched the inner tie rods go up. After driving it for about 5 miles the front starts jumping like it's locking up. I have removed the front shaft and put Manuel hub lockers on this vehicle. Any input would be appreciated.

Yeah from what I know about the backing up issue it's just called "the lazy front end" when you put larger tires almost all fords this style do it especially with a deep off set wheel and a lot of sidewall. That's just what I was told so I'm not 100% sure that others don't do it. Mine did it with 35s and 33s on 15s but it is not nearly as bad with my 35s on 18s.

This truck only has 32s on it. The front tires turn in like it has no tie rod ends on it. I've been a auto mechanic for 20yrs and I've never seen this before

Have very much the same issue, same size tires but no lift. New ball joints and two alignments. My mechanic says front end looks fine. Alignment guy said same, but after a drive he had a interesting comment. The ball joints can only be adjusted one time, after that you either replace it or you can install a camber adjustment kit to fix or go beyond the max offset. He then pointed me to another alignment shop that has the proper tool to do this type alignment. I go there Tuesday.

Most everyone I've taken my truck to agreed that the drag link is problematic because it was undersized, especially for when running oversized tires, even 31's. A steering damper kit will fix the wobble given that your ball joints are aligned and tie rod ends are still in decent shape. The steering damper come stock I believe on f-250's and up for that reason.

After a visit to a alignment specialist, he immediately started poking at the I-beam pivot bushings. The play they had accounts for the wobble in the steering and front end when driving at over 35.
He also told me that it is possible to replace them without tearing apart the whole front end, but you will need a portable press to accomplish this. Hope that helps
