Thats what i thought you ment, original GM and Dodge front driveshaft joints use strap on yokes like a ford of the seventies and 80s, or you should be able to seperate the flange yoke, and toss it.

I wanna see this monster running, and making jeeps look stupid.

To be frank i am not much of an innovative guy and sort of a newbie but got really curious about the case you have mentioned here and the links given here really seem to be quite innovative and still practical to work with in similar situations.
