Default Your thoughts on this combo for rebuild . . .

302 Rebuild - 93 F150 donor roller block going into 95 F150
Getting block cleaned and checked for cracks
Having the crank from the 93 checked/ground to reuse
reusing the upper & lower intakes (will have cleaned with block)

Here is the set-up I think I've settled on - PLEASE let me know if this is not a good combo. This truck is my daily driver, 110 miles a day (freeway miles), use it to pull my 14ft bass boat, it's an extended cab, 8ft bed and I'm getting the tranny worked on as well.

FYI - 3.08 axle ratio

COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Cam and Lifter Kits K35-512-8
Summit - $700.97
COMP Cams Magnum Rocker Arm and High Energy Pushrod Kits RP1450-16 Summit - $193.97
AFR Renegade 165
AFR - @$1,500.00
Pistons - not sure yet
Rings - not sure yet
K & N Air Filter KNN-57-2543
Advance Auto - $272.99

Thanks,
Joel

Make sure the cam is HO timing order. 93 and 95 are different firing order (so also different valve order. The computer in the 95 will be set up for HO.

Sounds like a good combo but that 3.08 really needs changed out to at least a 3.55 for towing that boat. With a load and such high gears it will be constantly jumping in and out of OD and that will cause hight temps witch will in turn destroy your trans. And like previously noted make sure your engine is set for the HO firing order.

^ he's right u need to getrid of the 3.08 . I'm not a fan of 3.55s either I run 4.10s in my 92 and 95 with a five speed tranny. She hauls watever I need her to and it has nice torque.

You have a strong combo that you're proposing.

If it is a daily driver, I'd go without the K&N air filter.

Reason being is that while it most definitely flows substantially more air, it doesn't filter as good as a paper filter and this is a big deal on a daily driver because longevity is part of the equation of any engine build that is to be used as a daily driver and clean air has a direct impact on longevity.

Also, make sure you are using hardened pushrods, even if you are using stock pedestal rocker arms.

Chris, I think you might be confusing the OP (I'm confused from reading your response).

To the OP: It is only the cam that matters and 35-512-8 is the HO firing order. Year of donor engine doesn't matter with regards to firing order if you're using a completely different cam from what came in the block.
