Question Where is the Idle Air Control Solenoid located?

Could someone (or two) please tell me where the Idle Air Control Solenoid is located and what it looks like?

I have a 92 F150 w/ a EFI 302. I searched this site regarding engine surging and (although nobody seemed to finish their posts to give the actual repair) it looks like the majority of the people here say to clean/check/replace the Idle Air Control Solenoid.

Thank you for your responses and after I find it and clean it, I will let you know how it turns out. I'm off to bed and will check back in 7 hours. (blasted night shift).

Check the intake manifold gasket for leaks. Try using something like a light spraying of carb cleaner around the seal to see if the motor stumbles

OK so I'm up and found this link... http://www.fordf150.net/howto/throttlebodyclean.php ,And what looks to be a pretty good forum, The link shows cleaning the throttle body and the Idle Air Control. So I'll try that route.

I'll also check for intake leaks as paladin1176 suggests.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

UPDATE:

I never did anything with the Idle Air Control Solenoid after hearing some more information. And while I was taking an engine to town yesterday, I stopped at a parts store to have them check my alternator and battery since I saw the alt light flicker on the way in to town. It turned out my battery was low and my alt was not charging. So I picked up a new alt for $90 at O'Reilly and trickle charged my battery to a full charge.

My surge issue is now gone!!

I do detect a slight miss but I am in need of a new cap and rotor so I am off to get one now.

I don't believe I mentioned it but the 302 has 190270 miles on it. I changed the plugs last week after quite some time (gap burned to .055") and they all looked great. No signs of engine issues.

So the surge is back, actually it is more like a stall. I am now following this thread to hopefull resolve my issue. https://www.f150forum.com/showthread...ed=1#post71123
