Default What Year was MAF introduced?

I am looking at converting my 1989 F150 MAP driven ecu to MAF with an EEC-V computer.

To look for parts, what year did Ford change over to the MAF sensors?

Thought I'd better point out a bit of a problem with your conversion plan. From your EFI posts you have an 89 302.
MAF was introduced late 94. At the same time they started installing the 302 HO.
The 302 HO has a totally different cam than the earlier 302.
It's not about duration and lift, they made different valves open at different times - effectively changing the firing order to the same firing order as the 351W (which is very different from the earlier 302.
The existing spark firing order will still work, but the new MAF harness is going to have the injector firing order set for the HO cam configuration so you end up with an injector firing over here, but the cylinder with the intake valve open is somewhere else entirely, if you follow all that.
It's possible to change the harness wiring around to make it work, I think, but it would get a little complicated.
Just so you know that it's not necessarily just a plug n play swap.
Check the firing order of the spark plug wires on the motor the donor wiring harness is coming off of against your existing firing order to confirm that before you swap everything over cause it won't run without a wiring reconfiguration or a cam change.
Hope I caught you before you bought anything.

Moving the injector firing order isn't a big deal, it would need to be done though. It isn't plug and play anyways, '89 is way different than '94-'95.

Ohhh...

I wouldn't be changing any of the cam etc... just installing a MAF sensor and wiring it up as per the u-tube video which is relatively easy. Although this was done on a mustang of the same vintage, which had a single barrel throttle body. The problem you mention is when you install the '94 ECU.. I understand what your saying now!

When did the mustangs convert over to MAF? Maybe thats what i should be looking for... a mustang 5.0L 5spd ecu??

Definitely more research required...

I could place the MAF at the air filter end of the twin air tubes as mine is common ed up before the filter. Or i could move the dual to single adaptor closer to the engine, place a MAF then have a single tube to the air cleaner.
