Question what weight oil do you use?

I have a 1995 f150 5.8L 4x4. Just wondering what weight oil everybody uses.

You guys would be wise to switch to 5w-30. It will perform the same as 10w-30, but you will get less engine wear at startup because 5w-30 flows up to the valvetrain quicker at startup.

Hey - I resemble that! Nobody has ever accused me of being wise :-)

Actually for my model year, 5W30 is recommended only for temperatures 60degF and lower, 5W20 for temps 20degF and lower. 10W30 and 10W40 are recommended for temps from 0 to 100.

Who am I to go against the millions of dollars worth of Ford engineering? :-)~

I run 10/30 all year round here is GA. But for colder climates I would run the 5/30 for reasons stated above. (faster oil flow)

Thejon2524, nice! To original thread starter, is the label still under the hood someplace? Best to stick with the engineers. I'm in the hot desert, 5W20 recommended for my 02, 179K on the clock, just to add mark at 5K oil change.
