Default tranny swap

I have a 93 f150 xl 2wd 4.9 5spd manual tranny. Can I swap the 5spd with a C6? I'm not worried about fuel economy. I don't think it will throw a code since it's a manual/no computer for tranny. Besides I can use a B&M floor shifter and already have a radiator out of an automatic . Any ideas?

Where do you live? I'll take that M5OD off your hands tonight! Lol. New tires and 3 miles later a busted tranny! This sucks! Lol. As far as the swap, I thought about that today since i could not find a single M5OD in 5 salvage yards today. I'm planning on fixing the one I have, but I'm researching alternatives myself. Keep us updated!

You can, as in it is possible - but you're going to be changing a LOT of things to make it work.

Drive shaft? Crossmember, flywheel/flexplate, trans lines, what about speedometer?

From what I read on the swap earlier, locating the proper bell housing was more of an issue than any other. I think the 4.9 and 5.0 are windsor bell housings and the C6 with winsor bell housings were few and far between. If I read the details correctly.

All of the above ,other than speedo - that should work off the vss in your diff.
Automatic parts for steering column
You'll need a cable shift setup for the C6. Not sure what you'll do about the kickdown.
