Default What should Compression PSI be on a '92 4.9L?

I did a compression check and I'm running between 135-150 compression and I don't know if that's low or not...

I'm still chasing down a mileage problem that's leaving me with roughly 9MPG...

I'd check for vacum leaks & the MAP sensor.

Seems like a wide range... Did you note the reading for each cylinder? Knowing where the low ones are in relation to each other will point toward some possible issues.

When I cheched mine all of mine were 146 to 154 or so I'd think if you had a really low one like 90 or so or two side by side that were lower than the rest i'd be worried but that's my opinion ..what have you done so far for the mileage?

The lowest cylinder should be within 75% of the highest one, so you're good. Those sound like good pressures, there aren't any specs for how high they should be in my book but that sounds good.

Here's what I've done...some of you might remember my older posts, well, my plight has not changed...

What I've done:
-Oil change
-O2 Sensor
-New 190 degree thermostat
-Spark Plugs
-Cap
-Rotor
-Spark Plug Wires
-Fixed small air leak from EGR to intake w/ new gasket

Mechanic friend checked the following things for me:
1. Reset timing
2. Verified that timing chain was tight
3. Verified EGR works
4. Fixed a few vacuum leaks
5. Tire pressure correct
6. Compression test (see above)
7. Verified 355 rear end gear
8. No brake drag cold or hot (from what he could tell that day)
9. Verified 3 week old plugs didn't show signs of abnormal running conditions

Runs/drives perfect (from what i can tell). No signs of cross-filling in tanks.

Ideas?

I guess you're right sean - I need to learn how to do basic math before I run my mouth...

Fuel pressure?

Is this a stick or auto trans?

5-speed manual.

Fuel pressure is unchecked, I believe...

Only codes have been for the dead front gas tank.

Do you guys remember me from last month?

Might check to see if fuel pressure is running high - just a long shot.

What rpm does it idle at once it's all warmed up and settled?
