RTV- Room Temperature Vulcanizing. You won't need it for a waterpump. The supplied gaskets will be fine, and RTV will look sloppy and when used in conjunction with the gaskets will sometimes hurt the sealing ability. Just be sure to scrape the old ones off COMPLETELY! A razor blade, or even a gasket scraper, work great for that.

You should be able to do it with the shroud in place, and not more than an hour or so. To drain it, put a piece of rubber hose, 5/16 i think, on the drain from the radiator. Loosen the drain valve, and direct the flow of coolant, with the hose, into a bucket of some sort.
