Yes, RTV is waterproof silicon epoxy stuff, that acts as a gasket. And you have to drain your radiator, then take the hoses off, take the belt off, then take the ac/power steering rack off, unbolt all the bolts on the water pump, scrape the surface with a gasket scrapper, then this would be a good time to change the thermostat, and then put your RTV on and bolt back up, then reverse all the stuff you took off. EASY, just dont loose anything nor strip any bolts or threadings.

RTV. If its leaking at the connection to where it bolts to the block, then it could be the gasket but dont think that would be the case.

If you never placed a gasket then there is a whole new ball game here. Could you see where the leak is coming from on the pump?

Its hard to search the web with dial up for the how to's. If you give it awhile there are plenty of mechanics and users that have alresdy changed thiers that can post you the steps you need to take. Ill search alittle myself to see what i can find for you. Driving with a bad water pump can run you into alot of major repairs due to over heating, so if you dont have acouple grand sitting aside to fix them, I wouldnt recommend driving it.
