water pump freeze plug?
i need to know if my 5.o has a freeze plug on the water pump, and if so can i buy 1 without getting a water pump?

I dont believe, there is one. I blew some freeze plugs the other month (costly endeavor) There are two on the back that I know of. The water pump has a weep hole, thats all I know thats on it like that. Might be time to replace it, if you havent along with the belt and thermostat, maybe even hoses too!

What is your water pump doing to cause you to think of a freeze plug?
As Booger said, It does have a weep hole that once it goes bad it will start leaking out of. Nothing that radiator stop leak can fix either. Usually the sign of needing a replacement.
As of what I can see on mine, cant locate a freeze plug anywhere. Would make since to have one but also dont think it does

sorry so slow, still got dial up, i figured it made sense to have 1, so i thought i would ask, how much 4 replacment pump and kit?, maybe jb weld?

no on the jb weld, and there is no kit. Just a pump, last time i checked my autozone, Atlanta GA. it was around 33 USD. Then the RTV to put on it. Easy to replace, but you pretty much have to take the entire front of the engine apart. This is a good time to replace the thermostat, hoses, belt, and flush the radiator out.

Sorry buddy, JB WELD isnt gonna do the trick. They go bad on the inside and there really isnt any way to fix it other than a replacement. Good news is it wont kill the wallet for a new one. Price around; A cheap or remanufactured one may run you around $30 to 40. A good new one will run around possibly $60. Plus the gasket but should also be included with the pump.
