Default water drainage b/w hood and windshield

does anyone know what that little strip is called, screwed to the firewall where the gap is between the hood and windshield, it diverts rainwater away from the center of the engine bay, and off the sides, mine is wearing out and sagging in a few spots, which means that water is draining on my engine and electrical components

i need a name and/or a good source for a replacement thanks so much

I believe you're talking about the cowl seal, and LMC trucks should have it. You probably don't need it though, most everything under there gets soaked whenever you drive in the rain anyway.

thanks for the info, i'm gonna do a test with the hood up and dump water down the windshield to see how its diverted, i dont believe that everything SHOULD get soaked under there when it rains especially the electrical stuff eh??

I guess it wouldn't hurt to keep as much water out as you can, but underhood components are pretty tough being exposed to heat, water, dirt, oil, etc. The electrical plugs even have little rubber gaskets on them to keep out the elements.

All this focus on water and I forgot to mention, the cowl seal is actually there to prevent hot engine air from being drawn into the cowl vent.
