But there is nowhere for the tube to pipe into the exhaust. If I had a 3/4 inch pipe already poking out (or whatever size it is) that would be a nice quick fix but it's just straight 2.5 inch pipe, then a FM44

So your exhaust/cat has no AIR tube provision?

No, there is no cat. It's essentially straight piped with a muffler. But with that AIR tube not being hooked up it ticks and sounds like an exhaust leak. So how would I either go about hooking it up or deleting it. I don't want to remove the pump because I may hook it all back up later on.

Oooooh! Now I gotcha. Well, I'm talking apples and oranges here a bit, but the Bassani Y pipe that doesn't have a cat has an AIR tube provision welded onto it for that purpose, so I would assume you'd need to have a fitting plumbed into your exhaust to accomplish the same thing.

I wonder if there's anything you could just screw or clamp onto the end of your AIR tube to not necessarily plug it up, but quiet it down so you won't need to weld that tube in. I would imagine plugging it up would cause problems.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

You got me. Plugging it probably wouldn't be an option because the pump will be pushing air into a brick wall theoretically. Only thing I can think of is to run a shorter belt and bypass the pump all together (but leaving it in place for later use if needed).

I agree. Disconnect the pump and block off the hoses (inlets and outlets) so they don't get stopped up.

Thanks guys, I'm going to have my brother-in-law take a look at it tomorrow, he's a welder for Timken so if he can't fix it up nice and easy no one can. I'll let you know how it goes.

Got it all welded up and pieced together. EFI manifolds to the Walker Y-Pipe to a Flowmaster Super 44. 2.5" all the way. Before I had 1 cat and 3 inch pipe cut off under the passenger seat. You would be amazed at the amount of power loss you really get from a short wide open exhaust. I didn't really notice until I put the new set up on. So much more low end torque, gets up and goes, and climbs hills a ton easier. I haven't seen any notable difference in gas mileage though.
