Valve Stem Seal Replacement
My truck has all the symptoms, so I'm in the process of gathering up everything to complete the job.
One thing I found interesting in looking up these parts was that it appears that the engine has different seals for the intake and the exhaust. I found that to be rather strange considering this is an older engine design.
I'll be honest, I was trying to find the best bargain on seals, and I found some made by Sealed Power that were .69 a piece for intake and .99 a piece for exhaust. Is there really a difference between the two?
Maybe aftermarket manufacturers began making them different due to temperature characteristics of each valve?
Thoughts?
