have a F-150 4x4 and looking at getting a lift. Looking for somewhere around 3".

But my real question is there anyway to lift these trucks for free or real cheap? Like on Chevy i know i can crank torsion bars. Does a 1987 ford have any adjustment like that?

The only good cheap way to do it would be a body lift. You can put a body lift on for under 100 dollars.

Body lifts are cheap, I haven't done one on a ford so I don't know if you need any special extensions for lines and stuff. So I'd check into that, but if not its pretty simple if you have a few strong buddies. Suspension lifts are pretty pricey, and I wouldn't crank torsion bars on anything. All is does is mess up the alignment and eat tires and put more stress on the front end parts.

things on lift a cheap suspention lift kit with blocks 650 with springs 1200 now body lift kit 130 for 3 inches now you can also gain that lift by just going from 28 inch tires to 33 inch tires thats 2.5 lift and if you want get a 1 inch or 2 inch body lift kit so you dont have to worry about lines and keep in mind lifting the boddy does not make the suspention higher just where you sis so if your planing to do off road lift the suspention and tires the body kit is just for the looks

What is the reason why you want to lift the truck? Better ground clearance when offroading? Or just for looks?

You gotta think about how you plan on using the truck before you decide what type of lift you want to go with. Lots of deciding factors.

What whuld i have to do just to make the front as high as the rear end?

Jack up the truck, set the frame on stands, unbolt the coils, let the suspension hang, pull the old coils out, put the new one in, raise up suspension, bolt it all back in, and drive to the alignment shop. Its 1 bolt and 1 nut per side. piece of cake.
