Threw the slide and lock by Hi-lift on here. Looks great.

I think instead of throwing a shell on this truck going to keep it this way.

New main plans for the truck:
31s
rear helper spring (that truck box weighs a ton)
chrome diamond plate bed caps
diamond plate tail gate cap
paint it (probably only going to do the top section)
fix the muffler (later some duals)

I am trying to talk dad into once the engine goes putting a 5.4L 331 stroker (stroked 302) in this truck still efi and so far the 2010 5.4L Lariat is helping a lot. LOL
Dad wants to use this truck as a beater(my definition of beater is daily driver that does all the work) and the 10 as a nice truck.

I love diamond plate bed rail and tailgate caps. I'd like to get some for my truck. Where you plan on getting them?

The local scrap yard gets them in every once in a while and I grab them there really cheap. The tailgate cap I probably will have to go to Summit though.

On my 88 the bed caps I paid $10 but I know now she wants $20. I also am going to get ones with the stake hole cut outs. I should have kept the ones off the 86 F150 that we got rid of along with the custom wheels and 31 TA KOs.

Put 2 new tires on the front. Really wanted 31s but between the new F150 and had to buy tires for the envoy plus the bill for some more machine work on my 88 was only able to afford the stock 235s since I definitely needed new tires up front. Hopefully next month will have the rears done.

Mounted the rear view camera (had to fab the plate bracket to hold it) and routed the wire. Just got to hook the camera into the stereo (might have to go to radio shack to get a piece) and hook the power up to the reverse lights.

Here is the rear view camera I am running:
Amazon.com : Pyle PLCM10 License Plate Mount Rear View Camera w/Night Vision : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Pyle PLCM10 License Plate Mount Rear View Camera w/Night Vision : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Car Electronics

Also picked up some stainless steel bed rails with the stake hole cut outs. Not diamond plate but I can deal with that considering the price of free! Unfortunately I still have to get the tail gate cap.

I will get those installed once we finish up the back up camera.

Tires on the front ride real nice and look great even though they ain't 31s.

Put a plastic tailgate protector on, newer battery, and a under hood light bulb.

I need a piece for the back of the radio to hook up the back up camera but for now going to wait till I know exactly which one to get.

Also topped off the coolant.
Really need to get to the muffler because right now it sounds like it is straight piped and is droning like crazy inside the truck.

ordered a transmission filter for it.

Also recently picked up a 302 and found out the block is no good so hopefully with a little luck when I tear it apart the roller cam and lifters will be in good shape and I can put a roller cam in the truck.
Also hoping (doubting but hoping) that the same 302 happens to have GT40s on it.

Replaced the trans filter. Shifts a bit better but still not my favorite shifting transmission.

Fluid was completely black. Wasn't the original filter but must not have been changed anytime recently. Dad also said their was a bit of metal in it. Hoping nothing is wrong with it.

Told dad that if I can find a C6 or AOD I may put that in but doubt I will find a 4x4 one around here at a decent price.

Only one I have seen lately has a problem and I think that it will need a rebuild.

Changed the oil in her and she runs a little better but not the best. Dad is still driving her but he also started building a roller 302 for her. He also has been busy with fixing up a toy he picked up 1993 Lincoln Town car (that I personally hate told dad he might be getting a little old. LOL)

The engine build came to a slow down on it as we are trying to get a few things done.
He tried polishing the headlights a bit. He needs to hit it a few more times but overall helped a little. Unfortunately he hasn't been driving it much since he has been staying home.
