My father has a 2008 Tundra with the 5.7 and 4x4 that just hit 90k miles without a SINGLE issue. Only fluids, filters and tires changed. When I lived at home I'd take it out when he was out of town and go mudding, so it's not like it hasn't seen dirt ever. He also tows with it a couple times a month. It's been a great truck so far and I personally have no complaints with it.

My grandfathers 1500 and my uncles 2500 Silverado transmissions both quit on them before 40k miles. Needless to say they both went to Ford after that.

And my ma's dodge caravan had an issue every 10k miles untill the transmission needed a rebuild at 120k miles and we scrapped it.

What I've seemed to notice, is that a lot of ford guys when they get older (50+) buy toyotas. At least that's the trend I've seen.

By far the highest quality vehicles I've seen are Ford and Toyotota.

I personally haven't had to many problems with Chevys but dodges and Toyotas the problem is with these roads they are washboarded out and make things break fast. I am lucky that the Chevy IFS hasn't gone on my mom's GMC Envoy.

I can get a cap for the truck I just haven't gotten it yet as I am more worried about my 88 then small things like that for the 90 right now.

Haha thanks for the laugh bud! I've never heard of that manufacturer. Just giving you a hard time.

I'm just basing that off my personal experiences. From what I've seen in my short life toyotas and fords last the longest.

It is very possible that Toyotas last along time but a lot of people don't understand that different areas have different terrains. My neighbor said he had a Tacoma with the 22r engine lasted forever he got another one and brought it over here and it fell apart.

Finally got the cap for the 90 F150 that was missing. Actually got the correct front one and the rear one so now it looks 100% better. Best part is they were free and didn't cost anything in gas either because we were going to my buddies place anyways. LOL

Weird thing happened. Dad took the truck into town and he said he had no radio or dome and cargo light. So a little looking in the fuse box part and he found the dome and cargo light fuse blown and the radio fuse completely missing no sign of it. It was as if somebody took the truck and removed the fuse. My dad is the only one with keys to the truck and it is locked all the time so I have no idea how it could have happened. Strange part was that the truck looked like it had less gas then before when we parked it.

Well picked up a shell for twister but think we are going to sell it because it doesn't fit her the worlds best.

The other day dad hauled about 800-1200lbs of batterys home (for the solar) and as the truck was pulling up it sounded like the truck was searching for gears as if dad forgot to take it out of overdrive like he does sometimes. So I asked him when he pulled up and he said it was out of overdrive so kinda wondering why it was searching for gears especially since he was going maybe 10 MPH if that.

Anybody have any ideas?
I wouldn't think with that much weight it would do that but I am new to the whole E4OD thing (even though we have 3 of them).

Replaced the solenoid on her today when it left dad stranded in a parking lot. A new solenoid, some help from the neighbor whom just happened to pass by, and a rescheduled doctors appointment he was good to go.

Through the truck box off our 02 F250 on here since it doesn't fit the 10 that we just got. Now we just need 31s. After this pic I did clean it just haven't gotten a pic of it clean yet.
