Truck wouldnt start...what to look for
Got in my truck after work and it wouldn't start. All the lights come on and fuel pump is priming. But when you turn the key to start, nothing. I would assume it's either the starter or ignition switch.
Any thoughts to steer me in the right direction?

Check your connections. battery, starter, solenoid, grounds.
There's a small wire going either to your starter or solenoid on the fender (depending on your setup, I'm not 100% on your year) that should get power when you turn the key to start.
If you're dealing with wet or (like me) snowy conditions, it'll probably be a bad connection.

Yeah it's done this before but usually a second or third try and it would start. Sometimes if I hold the key in the start position for a extra few seconds it would eventually start up.
I'll check it out tomorrow.

Cleaning up all the connections is absolutely the best thing you can do to your truck for free. And then you'll be sure any problems aren't that.
An awful lot of starters and batteries get sold this time of year to solve problems that are actually due to bad connections.
After that, yes maybe the mlps or the ignition switch or possibly a lazy solenoid or bad starter.
