1991 f150 weak cranking won't start sometimes
I have a 91 f150 4.9 auto. I have recently have been having an issue with the engine cranking weak. Sometimes it seems to start alright other times it turns over like the battery is dying and sometimes it don't start at all. I so hear like a humming sound around the solenoid. Usually after it sits awhile it will start again. It has a newer starter on it (around 6 ish months old maybe) I've changed the solenoid (tried two different ones) had the battery tested and it came back good. I also have a new positive battery cable in terminal I'm going to try to put on (2 guage) does anybody have any advice or have experienced a similar problem before. I was doing so research and seen people have problems with the fusible link before as well. On this truck which wires that connect to the solenoid are fusible links? Are the yellow wires that come off the side that the positive battery terminal goes to fusible links?

Given what you've shared, would take a hard look at the cables and connections as a leading suspect. Don't think the fusible links come into play here, though.
Have had one instance where the cable near the battery corroded through up under the insulation out of sight - had to cut the insulation back to see it.
Suggest to ensure good, clean, tight connections at both ends of the positive and negative cables.
Good luck and keep us posted.
