Removing the SPOUT Plug takes the EMC advance out of the picture.

You can remove the ICM (TFI) module & have it bench checked at most auto part stores.

You need to do the KOEO (Key on /Engine off) error code scan.

That's nice to know. I'm just repeating what I was told a while back on another forum (SubFord on FTE).

Follow the red wires to the oblong componant.

The ECM is the onboard computer.
