I know , tryin to save some bucks , but in the end prolly will end up gettin new tranny soon. Right now I'm goin to try the tranny filter again, use some RTV to make sure the gasket stays put this time, and run it till that tranny ****s the bed or I got enought o rebuild it or get a new one.

The tranny filter gasket
check that tranny filter gasket out, wasn't sealing that great looks like. So... I replaced it with a new filter kit today, and filled her up with tranny fluid. Now, my tranny works like she use to, SWEEEEEEEET. Was my own fault for trying to do a quick tranny filter change at 7pm and tryin to hurry to beat the dark , should have done it on the weekend instead. Happy I got my truck back, but sad it was my own error. Moral is "NEVER RUSH."
But..... It still don't explain why it was slipping before I changed the filter and f-ed up that gasket tho. However when I did the first change, the filter that was on it wasn't the deep neck filter like I have on it now. It was a low profile filter, and I know my AOD needs the deep neck b/c of the bump in the tranny pan. Maybe that playied a part in the problem, or maybe the filter was simply dirty?

trans shift
hey guys I got a 1993 f150 with an AOD in it. I'v had it for a few years, it shifted fine before, but now months later, for some reason it is slipping from 1st to 2nd and seems to do it when I turn right around a corner. I did see that the fluid was a little high and had alot of bubbles on the dipstick, I did change and correct the fluid level. I read a few posts about the Fuel Injection Pump Lever sensor or it could be the TV (kickdown) cable. I check the kickdown looked good and taught, not broke. I have no idea where the Fuel Injection Pump Lever sensor would be, . any suggestions would help?
i think that sounds like the rear end, spider gears when u make a turn may be worn or missing teeth check it out

Dude, I Have A 1987 F150 5.0 AOD 2wd. I Have The Same Problem. I've Been Driving It This Way For About 2 Years. It Seems To Only Do This When My Truck Is Cold And Go Right Or If I Put The Pedal Down. It's Just Like You Said, Only On Right Turns Or When You Go For Heavy Acceleration. I've Been Thinking If It's Anything Mechanical It'd Have Already Crapped Out On Me. If It Works Fine For You Now, It's A Good Thing I Didn't Do Something Foolish Like Buy A New Transmission. Thanks For This Thread, Compadre. I'll Be Having To Do The Same Thing Shortly.
