Default Transmission fluid on a manual '96
I'd like to check and possibly change out my trans fluid. I've got a 96 manual. Is there anything I should know in advance, or does anyone have advice when doing it?

pretty easy job, just drain and refill, you shouldnt have any problems.

It takes Dextron/Mercon III automatic transmission fluid, not gear oil.

A Haynes manual would be helpful. A god investment if you plan on working on and maintaining your truck yourself

It takes 7.6 pints. Slightly less than a gallon. Assuming it's an m5od
