Default Towing

Anybody think I could pull a 26-30ft camper(pull behind) with my 95 f150. Its got the 5.0 302ci. I don't have the weight just wondering if anybody has done it without problems and if it has enough power.

have towed a 26 fter with 01 5.4 355 rear axle with no trouble. however i dont know what axle ratio you have. being the smaller motor i tend to think it will be borderline especially in hilly roads.

@foxracer0345 no it does not have electric brakes.

It has the 3.55 non-limited slip. ymeski56 what class trailer hitch did you have on your trucks. I'm really hoping I can pull it otherwise I'll have to get this f250 I was looking at with the 460. My wife would have my a** with already having two trucks.

You can pull anything...if you want. I believe the towing capacity of the 302 with an automatic is 7600 lbs. The question/problem is how much does it weigh and what kind of condition is your engine and more important, your transmission in? Not having electric brakes sounds like you're begging for an accident. If you have a worn out transmission, kiss it goodbye with the extra strain. If it's in good shape, maybe consider a transmission cooler and you'd probably be better off going with some 3.73 or 4.11 gears to give you more torque at the wheels. If you want to tow on a regular basis, get a diesel F-250. Just my 2 cents........

Thats a good question. It was custom welded to the framework w/ reciever. The insert w/ the ball made a great anchor in a pinch.
