Tire Size??

Lock your hubs. Check the picture. They look like manuals, so if you want the traction you're missing, turn them into the "lock" only when you need the traction. When you don't need 4WD, turn them back into the "free" position. And the stock size is most likely a 235/75R15. If you want bigger, 31's are a good fit. If you want level out the front and you'll easily clear 33's. (I just did)

I love how you circled the hub...
I got the 4X4 thats pictured farther down on the first page. Do you think 33/12's would clear that? I want to put a 4" lift on it but not until I get the tires I want. Last thing I want it a lifted truck with tiny tires.

33x12.50R15 are going to be a bit tight. You'll have to trip a bit on the bumper for them to not rub.

Hey guys, I appreciate All this feedback. I didn't know about locking any hubs, like i said before i'm new to trucks, so this could have been my problem, lol......along with some better tires.

If your going with a 4" lift and you don't want your tires to look tiny then I would go with a 36" tire. I've got 35" tires on mine with a 3" lift and it doesn't have a a leveling kit on it. If you are wanting to stay with a smaller tire like a 33", then I would keep it stock or put a leveling kit on it. There's nothin worse to me than seeing a giant gap between the tires and wheel well. But then again that's only my opinion.

The hubs either lock or unlock the axle from the wheel in the lock position it allows you to use 4x by shifting the transfer case into 4x. With the hubs unlocked it freewheels the front tires which means that if you lock the transfer it will not power the front tires. In the free position you will get better fuel mileage and less wear and tear on the front driveline.

Exactly, without the hubs locked it will spin the axle inside of the hub and not the tire, both hubs will need to be locked or unlocked at the same time. Having on side locked and the other unlocked will cause problems with the hubs and the differential due to lack of lubrication. Most manufacturers recommend running with the hubs lock for at least 10 miles of highway driving per month. This is to ensure the oil inside the diff is covering all the diff parts to prevent rusting.
