Default Timing and Ignition

OK..got everything for the ignition upgrade..as well as a few new parts and sensors..Now I need clarification on "Side Gap" I set my plugs at .50 for example and wanting to know what your referring to as Side gap..sorry..

be careful if you are advancing the timing....too much advance with 87 octane and you will get detonation or a blown engine....

The .50 I was using was just an example...I am thinking it was 44..It's a 1992 5.0 auto 2wd F-150

I was under it all day and I cannot find any rust..anywhere..This is the most rust free 18 year old pickup I have ever seen for being original..Seriously..you guys would have to see this pickup...there isnt any rust..just road wear..I got a hell of a deal...


So ...back to side gap....I remember doing that back in the 70's..Guess the Brain cells have been depleted..LOL..

I side gap for my 87' 302 at .056 (.044 is my stock gap) w/ a 60K volt (.45 ohm) coil.
