Since i unplugged the stereo i noticed a ticking/clicking sound when i drive.
It doesnt tick when its in idle, even if i rev the engine to 1500 rpms but when i drive it ticks when i push the throttle and it ticks faster as the rpm's increase.

I'd like to believe that a valve would make the noise in idle as well?

This might not help much but a friend of mine had the same problem you were having not to long ago, however it was an 04 F150, but his ticking noise ended up coming from a bad head gasket.

is it for sure a motor tick , or something in the drive train, Ive heard u joints tick before?? Also let these guys know what motor have, hopefully someone can help you more

Like dono16 said sounds like exhaust.
try tightening the bolts on the headers wife's 87 stang and my 95 f-150 has same problem no ticking on idle but became noticeable at higher RPM.

Both my vehicles only had 2 bolts lose but was enough to drive me nuts.

Its an 1988 5l 302 v8

It doesnt tick when i put it in P or N and rev it up? At least i cannot hear it

Not sure if its a motor tick, after all, it doesnt tick in p or n, only when i drive or reverse.
