Im also ordering some Accel 19 lb. fuel injectors and a new harmonic balancer. My old one had a pretty bad groove worn in it.

Thanks man, i love my truck and have put lots of love into it! The engine was already painted when I got it. Its a nice glossy black, I like it. I painted my valve covers and oil pan old ford blue. I also painted a few miscellaneous parts and had the intakes and accessory brackets hot tanked.

Thanks again, I made sure to put thread sealant on the flex plate bolts as well as the timing cover and water pump bolts. I don't want any leaks on the new engine.

You could've gotten a sleeve for your harmonic balancer to save some $.

Did I read somewhere where you said that a sleeve should be used even with a new balancer? Seems like I read something like that.

Here's another update. Got the water pump on. Thread sealant was used on almost all the bolts.

Put in a new oil pressure sending unit. Installed the accessory brackets, alternator, and PSP. Got the headers installed and the exhaust bolted up. Put the water pump pulley on because I'll be ditching the factory boat anchor and installing an electric fan.

Yes you did. It is my opinion that a harmonic balancer should be a lifetime item and a sleeve on a new one (provided it's good quality) should solidify that frame of thought. A new sleeve in 10 years (just throwing 10 years out as an example) is much cheaper than a new balancer.

Looks like you're about to the "fun" part. Wiring. Lol. Looking good. Glad to see you're taking your time.

Cool. I'll get a sleeve for the balancer. I'm going with a Dorman oe style one.

Yeah the wiring part is pretty fun lol. Thanks, it looks great. Sorry for the poor quality pictures, its a cloudy day and I took them with my phone.

Now I'm waiting on payday (tomorrow) then I'll order the Accel injectors, harmonic balancer, and and an AC delete pulley. Then I'll need some spark plugs, oil, and antifreeze. Then...hopefully she fires right up.

Just checking in....you did use sealant on the oil pressure switch, right? And left the first 2-3 threads (that screw into the engine) bare?

I'll be honest with you, that Dorman balanced ain't all that great. Powerbond is a better quality unit.

Yes I used permatex high temp thread sealant. I put it on the first few threads and screwed it in. Is it supposed to ground through the threads in the block?

Hmm..Dorman usually makes some pretty quality stuff. I've had good luck with their parts.
