Driver's side, under the hinge, any number \ of the connectors there will have a Red w/light green stripe. This is a 20 amp fused only on during run and start. Red/lt green is the wire you want from any of these locations.

I opened the loom for Powertrain Control Module, it has what I believe is the Spout connector (white plastic with two wires) attached to it. This is where I found the most excess red/lt grn wires, tapped into it, then covered that back with the loom.

Hold up a minute! Be very careful tapping into the wiring under the hood. Very wet area, even under the fuse box housing. Get yourself a multimeter and find an actual fuse that is on with the ignition. Go to auto zone and buy a fuse tap. You.slide it over one blade of the fuse and slide the fuse back into the socket. Much cleaner and your not stripping and trying to seal a wire in an adverse environment. Not knocking fltdriver but this is too quick and simple to pass up. Remember, you only need milliamps to switch the relay, so any of the fuses can be tapped without overload concern.

i had never thought of doing it that way, usually i wire, soder and heat shrink, but a fuse tap wouldnt be a bad idea either....rather than a multimeter i usually just use a test light lol

I was going to just use a fuse tap but found several posts regarding stretching of the contacts in the box not allowing the fuse to sit properly, causing random no contacts. Here is one of the threads that convinced me not to use it.

You could even run the wire through the firewall to, just an example, the signal wire for the radio, dry place, easy to get to.

A fuse tap that slides over the fuse contact does not squeeze into the fuse socket. The fuse slides through the tap. There are two different types of fuse taps. One that slides into the socket and one that attaches to the fuse. You need the latter. No damage is possible with it.
