I just now saw this comment. The miss is gone with the new ICM, however since I installed the 1st new ICM, I have installed 4 others due to ICM failure. The first 3 ICMs failed within ~1k miles in a months time. The 4th ICM lasted ~3k miles, in about 2 months time. I installed module #6 today. I had a few of them tested at the parts store, and their test equipment said the RPM low signal failed immediately. That would make since because the truck just dies as if I turned the ignition key off, and will not restart. No warning signs of failure, just randomly one day the truck will die and it's time for a new ICM. I've since replaced the entire ignition system and I'm about to start digging into the harness to see if I can find a short that is burning up the module. The only issue is, there are zero symptoms (that I am aware of) with the module up until failure. So there's really no good way of testing other than overlaying the suspected circuits and then driving the truck for a few months/thousand miles and if the module doesn't fail I guess I'll make the overlay permanent. That's not really an effective way of testing though, since one of the modules lasted longer than the others. I'm really at a loss at this point.

Hopefully you moved your ICM to a more convenient spot and have a new spare one in the truck.

Dude, I hate you had to suffer through all those part changes, but know you have helped others - I will start with the ICM - and hopefully be done!

Hey guys. I finally got my motor swap done and there is still a lean miss under load, however the detonation is gone.

While I was doing the swap, I carefully looked over the engine harness to see if there was any damage that might be causing the miss, like melted wires shorting out or something like that. Well, everything looked good, except on the back of the U shaped harness that feeds the fuel injectors and such. The harness loom was badly burnt and almost gone where the harness lays next to the air diverter crossover tube on the back of the heads. I carefully peeled the loom back and did not see any melted wires so I didn't worry about it.

Well, now that its all back together and the truck is running and there is still a miss (however not as severe), I am wondering if the wires being heated so much has affected their permanent resistance? Will wires that are constantly heated increase in resistance once the heat has been removed after a period of time?

I'm really grasping at straws here, I have no idea what's going on. I'm about to either sell the truck or send it into the river.
