Starts fine on rear tank, not so well on front tank
My 92 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4 auto starts quickly on the rear gas tank, but a long time cranking when on the front tank. Once it starts running, it runs great on both tanks. I was thinking possibly a fuel pump problem in the front tank maybe? Are there two fuel filters, one for each tank? What else could it be? I have been getting an EGR code if that may be related. Thanks guys.

Just call me sean. Really
Mine does this. I know for a fact my front tank/pump were replaced just before I bought my truck, but they had trouble with the rear. When I turn it on the rear tank pump sounds weak and sometimes won't start, but on the front it always starts right up.
I think your fuel pump is going.

I've been told that there is one filter on it. Also, there is a low pressure fuel pump in each tank, and a high pressure fuel pump to feed the fuel injectors. I'm gonna check to see if maybe there is a rusted fuel line comming from the front tank, possibly allowing air in / fuel out and not letting the line build enough pressure. I'll post my findings.
