Starter solenoid

Are battery cables sealed ends or clamp ons? Ive seen the sealed end cables break wires under the sheathing. I hate those cables. Clamp ons are about $3 each and I can tell if there is a good connection with them.

Check and clean the other ends of the cables.. like where it connects to your ground and starter.

It is the starter solenoid. The top cable is rusty and when it's humid it acts up. It's because the hood being bent. Haven't tried to do anything about it until this morning when it wouldn't start for my dad, I just pulled the cable off blew into it and onto the stud put it back on and it started.
