Default Specs

I'm trying to find out the stock specs for my 95 f150 351w 5.8L. Every web site I go to gives me the 4.9 or 5.0. Im trying to find HP, Torque, gear ratio's, stroke, compresion, to see whats stock or not in my truck. Any web sites in mind?

You should be able to run the door tag to find out what gears you have in it, all the other information can be found through a decent google search:

1995 vinH MFI: 210hp@3600 325lb/ft@2800
1995 vinH SFI(CA/e40d/maf): 205hp@3600 330lb/ft@2600
1995 vinR MFI(lightning) 240hp@4200 340lb/ft@3200

This is direct from Chiltons, look at the notes. '95 CA SFI trucks had more torque at a lower RPM and 5 less hp at the same rpm as the MFI trucks of the same year. Hard to compare the lightning stuff because the engine speeds are a decent amount higher. They all have the same compression (8.8:1) but the lightning has a different cam and the gt40 style intake.

I have the 95' 5.8, Ca VinH version. would 3500 RPMs be a normal shift point for an automatic at wide open throttle? if the HP peaks at 3600 RPMs?

Thats where I'm shifting right now and it just seems like pretty low RPMs for a shift point under hard acceleration. I've only owned V-6s before so maybe my perception of WOT is a little off for a V-8

Where do you guys shift with a 5.8 EFI at wide open throttle?

There really isn't any point in revving past the point where your vehicle makes top horsepower, so a shift point of 3600-3700rpm is probably about right. If you could increase airflow in (CAI, larger TB) and out (headers, free flowing exhaust), you could probably raise that a few hundred RPM, but most of it's related to the factory cam, I would think.
