Default Solenoid issue, need help.

I have a 1991 Ford For XT Lariat. 5.8L 351 V8 and last night while driving I stopped to get gas and turned the truck off, after getting gas I tried to turn it back on and had no luck, turning the key made no noise what so ever, I had called AAA and the driver came and told me it's most likely a solenoid issue and touched both terminals to start the truck manually. This morning I went to the auto store and bought a new solenoid and hooked it up the exact way as the old one and now I still have no luck. Can someone please try and help me here.

well if you get no power whatsoever its a loose connection with your battery or messed up ground cable but if it had power but made a clicking noise its the solenoid...are you sure its hooked up the same? its easy to hook something up wrong when your dealing with wiring
