Default Brake lights and hazard flasher

Hey guys,

Problem: Brake and hazards don't work... Reverse lights, running lights, left and right turn signals all work.

All fuses are good, brake pedal switch works, wires have power.
Signal flasher works.

I cannot for the life of me find a hazard flasher.... Trucks a 1991 F150 xlt.
Flasher is supposed to be on the back side of the fuse box or next to the instrument panel? I have heard even around the side of the glove box.
CANNOT FIND IT!

Any ideas? Does a 91 xlt have a separate flasher?

There are two flashers, one for the turn signals and one for the hazards. If the hazard flasher isn't behind the fuse box behind the turn signal flasher then it's all the way on the right of the dashboard, behind the glove box almost against the passenger side of the truck.

Okay I don't know if I'm looking for the right part any more... correct me if I'm wrong.

Hazard flasher.... cylindrical shape, silver in color, 2 prongs on the back. NOT THE SIGNAL FLASHER.

2 locations... behind the signal flasher on the fuse panel or on the RIGHT hand side behind the glove box.

I cannot find it!?!

Truck is a 1991 F150 XLT Lariat regular cab long box 4X4.... tilt steering overdrive all the bells and whistles....

any one know whats wrong here?

Both flashers look identical. Take out the glove box. Look to the right, under the dash vent.

The one on my 92 is on the back side of the fuse panel straight behind the signal unit.

Yeah your right I just found it... had to take out the glove box. Cept its not identical at all... its green and smaller then the directional flasher. It was a bitch to get at and it didn't solve my problem.
For some reason I am only getting 7.5 volts at my brakelight switch/hazard flasher fuse.

For the time being I jammed a peice of com cable into a 30amp fuse and into the brake switch worked like a charm. This weekend I'm going to look into this voltage problem.

NighthawkJR,

I got an 87 Bronco and a 94 F150 as well... and they both had the Hazard flasher on the reverse of the signal flasher.
Not my 91... but thanks for the input this one was driving me nuts
