Yeah 7 Miles to the gallon

i have beed driving just around town and to work and school both are within 2 Miles of my house i am in Michigan so it has been pretty cold that last few days but I think i should be gettin better than 7 mgp i would be happy with 11 mpg

When was the last maintenance done? Fuel filter, ect ect? A basic tune up could help. Any codes at all? Are you smelling gas at all in the cab? If it's dual tank, those are notorious for the rear tank not working.

You should be getting better then that, I have the 4.9 engine in my 93 and I get 14/15 city...

do you know if the o2 sensor has ever been changed? like Franchi said, a tune up will help things out.

PVC, plugs, wires, fuel filter, o2 sensor, run a can of seafoam thru it if you want, some people swear by it.

The 1994 5.0 V8 should have a Mass Air Sensor. If it gets really dirty your gas mileage will be terrible. Get a can of MAS cleaner remove the inlet leading from the air cleaner, this will give you access to the MAS, DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH ANYTHING OTHER THEN THE MAS SPRAY, It is a very sensitive part. Below is the one of the brands Autozone carries and it is the one I use. below the CRC spray is the Mass Air Senor assembly.

I'm gonna echo for the Tune-Up!! I've got the 5.8L with 16" lift and 41" tires...and i get 10mpg...sometimes 12

I agree...start with cleaning the MAF and try getting a new 02 sensor(don't junk the old one, keep it as a back-up)

SEEEEEAAAAA FFFOOOOOOAAAAAMMM!!! I've only done this treatment 2 times on my 5.8L, and it helped me!
