So, my truck will sometimes lose the throttle for around 5-10 seconds and we think it is the egr because it is giving a code. It also seems to have a weird idle.

It starts high, goes down to normal rpms, then seems to sort of die then kick right back up. We think that might be what makes me lose throttle sometimes.

I was just wondering if it would be worth it to seafoam it to see if it might run a little bit better... No telling how dirty it is.

It is a 1995 F-150 5.0 v8 4x4.

I figured since it is like 10 bucks that it could not hurt, but I wanted some advice first.

I would if i was you and it cant hurt it. Plus theres a good chance it will help with at least one pf your problems.

Run it regularly..it certianly will not hurt anything and may prevent future problems. Its good stuff. BG44K may also be helpful, but a tad more expensive.

Try cleaning the idle air control that will probably help do you have any codes present

I actually have 3 codes present.

172 - HEGO (H02S) sensor fault/lean
332 - Insufficient EGR flow detected
632 - Overdrive Transmission Cancel Switch/ no action during self engine run test

Also, would it be okay to just put some seafoam in the vac lines? I do not want to have to change the oil and I poured some fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank already.

Sounds like you need to replace the O2 sensor. The code referring to the EGR flow is either a bad EGR position sensor or a bad EGR vacum solenoid or the vacum line going from the EGR solenoid to the EGR valve is leaking the leaky line is probably the culprit the 632 code is operator error I done that myself

If o2 has more than 60K, I'd replace it for the sake of improving MPG alone.

Insufficient flow could also be the EGR stuck, or the Vac Diaphragm of the EGR is leaking.

1/3 can in the oil, another 1/3 in the booster vac line, and the last 1/3 in my fuel tank. it seemed to fix my fluctuating idle and kept it pretty steady.
