Shocks
I have a 1989 f-150 4.9l and want to no something. One time I put some new shocks on my toyota truck and it lifted it about a inch or so and was wondering since the shocks on the ford are so wore out how much lift would I get out of a set of air shocks in the back and some good shocks in the front. Trying to figure out what I should buy with the old tax return. LOL right back....

Air shocks are a cheap lift..lol. Regular shocks will not provide any lift. Regular shocks do not offer any support, just there to dampen the spring effect.

I'll probably just get a set of air shocks or nitrogen KYB shocks for the rear. Will the nitrogen KYB shocks lift it up any.......it says there heavy duty....also can you buy air shocks for the front.....

Shocks, other than air shocks, do not lift the vehicle. Heavy duty shocks can handle more stress without breaking. I put airshocks on a 93 Dakota I used to own. They lifted the rear nicely and worked very well when carrying anything heavy in the bed. They were about $90 for the set and I installed them myself.
