Shifter forks wearing out 1996 f150 5 speed
I have a 96 f150 5 speed, about a month and a half ago i replaced the shifter forks, well the 1st and 2nd gear have done the same thing when i opened it up the same fork was bad. does anyone have any idea why this might be happening i am at a loss.

it has a lot of play in the bearings causing your main shaft on the inside of the tranny to move back and forth. mine does it to. i just deal with it. thats normally a sign that your truck had the poo run out of it. and the only way to fix it is to rebuild your tranny.
