Default Shift lock

I notice my 95 has that shift lock so the brake pedal needs to be pushed to shift which I hate so has anyone disconnected it and just where is it located,as soon as it gets a trans that is the next thing I am going to do on it. All the government mandated safety stuff for the the idiots drives me nuts.

Really? Of all the things to bother you, I guess you need to get yourself a manual trans. Don't buy anything new if you get bothered that easy.

Actually, you can, it's on the column. But I agree with djflmnn - is it really that hard to push the pedal. It does help to keep little ones who can't reach the pedals (but can figure out a key) from getting themselves in to all kinds of trouble. My nephew did that in my brother's truck - he just got out for a second and didn't shut it off. Things went bad from there.

I never seen a bunch of sheep that have to have all that safety crap the government forces the manuufactures to put on everything, its coming off and I try to be smarter then the machine. All that crap is why I like the much older vehicles and the more I think about it I might just yank the 351 out of it and put it in my 66 that has none of that crap, even though I wired up a neutral safety switch on the 66 to get reverse lights it will not get hooked up to the starter. By the way all those safety switches get bypassed on my lawn tractors too,get stuck in the snow with a vehicle with the shift lock on and report back on how much longer it takes to get out.

This is hilarious so in your mindset just disconnect the airbag seat belts and all that. I mean who needs that right?

I (used to have) a brother in law who would routinely disconnect the emergency brake cables on his vehicles "because they're just gonna cause trouble eventually". All I could do was stare at him - I was totally lost for words. Huh?

Jeez, Jeff - gotta be wishing you never opened that can of worms. We should not be razzing you. You don't want shift lock, you don't want it. Here's some column pics - I think the second one shows the shift lock pretty well.
