Default Secondary Air Injection System

I have a 1989 I6 4.9L With The secondary air injection system. I recentyl removed it and snapped on of the fittings and need a new one. I know you can plug the holes in the head, but my question is, does this affect the air/fuel ratio or does it cause anything bad?

http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=64 It sure won't do anything good! Secondary air reduces combustion chamber temps under load.

So you would suggest getting one from the junkyard?

Grab extras, as you know, they're brittle! Sometimes, I think they break just staring at them too hard. You can use small rubber Vac hose to reconnect a break.

You'll never find a good one at the junkyard. The AIR system operates after combustion, removing it won't affect anything but emissions. It's the EGR that you don't want to remove.

Read this link page completely. Then decide what you don't need. http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=64

If I'm understanding you correctly, you can remove the fitting & reconnect the tube w/ a piece of rubber vac hose.
