rough idle, slight hesitation on take off
this is what i've done to my truck (not all in one go):
-plugs gapped at .044", properly routed motorcraft wires, distributor cap and rotor
-air filter
-fuel filter
-tranny fluid, coolant and engine oil changes
-new water pump, 192 deg t-stat, timing chain and timing cover gasket
-ignition timing set to 10deg BTDC (with spout plug out)
what's happening is:
-the idle is slightly rough and there is a slight hesitation taking off from stop, throttle response is good everywhere else.
this has happened before (like after every time i've reconnected the battery after disconnecting to perform a repair) but it would go away eventually, and i chalked that up to the computer having to relearn whatever it needs to. this time around though (after i installed my water pump and timing chain and adjusted the ignition timing two weeks ago), the symptoms seem to be persisting.
any ideas? thanks!
